energy efficient lightbulbThe University, through the Property and Facilities Division, has made funds available to support the implementation of energy efficiency projects at The University of Queensland.

Property and Facilities Division will consider applications for project funding and may grant funds up to 100% of expected total project cost. Any balance of project funding will be contributed by the applicant business unit.

Support in addition to, or alternative to, financial support is also available.  Please specify any additional project requirements within the application.

Funding allocation will be prioritised for energy projects against the following criteria:

  • Improved energy efficiency & reduced energy costs
  • Payback period
  • Other benefits such as value to UQ operations, learning or research objectives
  • Timeframe of implementation
  • Contribution by applicant

Funds are available to UQ entities for proposed projects, are not guaranteed beyond the current allocation and are not retrospective.

Eligible projects are those that require infrastructure upgrades or equipment purchases.  Note that projects requesting funding for research or staff salaries will not be considered.

Applications typically open for a one month period around September each year and are assessed by Property and Facilities Division.

All applications must be completed on the Energy Efficiency Project Funding Application Form and submitted to sustainability@uq.edu.au
