In addition to our major sustainability events and programs (such as Sustainability Week and the Green Ambassador Program), UQ offers a wide range of initiatives to get involved in sustainability on campus.
Here are a few of our regular opportuntities. It's also worth checking our calendar for a quick glance at all upcoming events.
UQ Repair Café
UQ Repair Café aims to fix items that would otherwise go to landfill, and teach students and staff skills to repair their own broken items, all while enjoying a cuppa and chat.
It is a friendly, fun event hosted in a partnership between Engineers Without Borders UQ, UQ Innovate and the Sustainability Office.

UQ Community Gardens
Our two gardens at St Lucia and Gatton provide a space for staff and students to grow their own fresh food alongside other new and experienced gardeners.
They offer a practical way to develop a stronger connection to the food we eat and the environment we live in.

LabSwap Week
Our annual LabSwap Week encourages all UQ lab staff to give away unwanted, non-hazardous lab consumables and equipment.
You could free up lab space, reduce wastage in your facility, extend your lab budgets, and help your lab meet more environmental goals.
