Aerial view of Warwick Solar FarmGreen Labs and Green Office representatives each had their own update session in Semester 1, 2019. These sessions allow reps to learn about sustainability, network, and share ideas.

Reps from the Green Labs program attended a talk on the sustainability strategies that are underway at UQ. Danielle and Carlos from the UQ Energy team shared information on their current projects, including the Warwick Solar Farm, Heron Island Research Station, and automatic sash closers.

Reps enjoyed the lively discussion, as well as the opportunity to meet and network with fellow reps as well as Sustainability staff over afternoon tea.

Green Office representatives celebrated World Environment Day on June 5 over morning tea at Darwin’s Cafe. The theme for 2019 was “Air Pollution”, which promoted interesting discussions.

Reps also shared their strategies for improving sustainability in their office spaces and travelled to attend the morning tea, from Long Pocket, Brisbane City and St Lucia campuses.

Stephane Guillou, a Green Office rep since 2012, was one of the reps in attendance at the morning tea, saying “it was an excellent opportunity to meet other reps and discuss environmental matters, challenges, and get inspiration and motivation”.
