Undertaking baseline assessments gives Green Labs representatives the opportunity to measure the environmental performance in their labs to identify areas where the most significant improvements can be made. Once an assessment is completed, each representative is provided with a personalised report that offers recommendations for areas of improvement and suggests appropriate measures to enact these recommendations.

Throughout 2017, new Green Labs representatives completed three baseline assessments. These assessments surveyed a number of categories, including energy, waste management and procurement. Baseline results continue to show that labs have a steady commitment to sustainability, with new labs averaging a score of 84%, consistent with the 2016 result.

The Green Labs Program would like to congratulate all Green Labs representatives for their fantastic efforts in completing these baseline assessments and introducing sustainable practices into their labs.
