Volunteering is a great way to take action towards sustainability and make a positive impact on the environment!

Our volunteer community offers students the chance to gain practical experience promoting sustainability on campus, make friends, and engage with people across the University and beyond on topics around sustainability. Opportunities include Welcome Weeks activities, Sustainability Week, Tree Planting Days, Riverbank Clean Up Days, as well as guest lectures and tours of sustainable infrastructure on campus including UQ’s solar arrays.

As a UQ Sustainability Crew volunteer, you will receive information on volunteering opportunities, including sustainability initiatives and events, and can choose what you want to be involved in to suit your other commitments.

The benefits of being a Sustainability crew member include:

• Providing support and education to your peers
• Meeting like-minded people and expanding your networks on campus and in the community.
• Contributing to meaningful initiatives that promote sustainability on campus and in the local community.
• All volunteering hours can be counted towards the UQ Sustainability Award and also contributes to the UQ Employability Award.

Whether you're an expert in sustainability, or only know the basics, we encourage you to get involved!
