Come along to the Science Learning Centre (240), Building 67 (SLC) Tuesday 22 August from 12:30pm for the Science Sustainability Swap. For sustainability week, the Science Leaders will be running a swap-meet/rummage style event where you’ll be able to bring quality unwanted items and find treasures to take home.
This event is totally free and will rely on donations; take the chance to clean out your cupboards and bring along your clothes, books & household items. We would like a variety of style and size options, so please consider participating.

Have some items to donate but can’t make the event? Drop off is flexible and we’d love your contribution.
Here are a few important notes to keep in mind.
- Items accepted: Clothing, Shoes, Books, Kitchen items, Bedding, Bric-à-brac
- Not allowed: Sharp items, Electrical goods, Stained or ripped clothing, Large heavy bulky items (must fit through a door), hazardous chemicals such as paints, solvents, cleaning chemicals.
- Have some items to donate but can’t make the event? Drop off items to the SLC on Monday 21 August or early Tuesday morning 22 August. Please email us if you'd like to organise a drop off outside of these times.
- All leftover items will be donated to the UQ Union Op Shop which will open during Sustainability Week at St Lucia Campus.

About UQ Sustainability Week 2023
Sustainability Week is an opportunity for the UQ community to celebrate and promote sustainability across UQ's campuses and sites. From August 21-25, a range of activities and events are hosted across all areas of the University, including markets, workshops, crafts and DIY, film screenings, specialist presentations, tree plantings, bird watching and garden tours, solar tours, forums and panel discussions, competitions and challenges to inspire sustainable behaviours.
