UQ is committed to protecting, managing, and enhancing biodiversity values through a number of measures, including revegetation projects, planting native tree species, sustainably managing pests, working closely with grounds staff to maintain campuses and sites according to sound biodiversity principles and running awareness campaigns and behavioural change programs for the UQ community.

Join Shane Biddle, head of the UQ Grounds team, as he take us for a tour through the UQ Rainforest to learn about the local flora and fauna and how it is managed.

About UQ Sustainability Week 2022

Sustainability Week is an opportunity for the UQ community to celebrate and promote sustainability across UQ's campuses and sites. From August 15-19, a range of activities and events are hosted across all areas of the University, including markets, workshops, crafts and DIY, film screenings, specialist presentations, tree plantings, bird watching and garden tours, solar tours, forums and panel discussions, competitions and challenges to inspire sustainable behaviours.
