Campus Micro-mobility

Ever wondered what the rules are with bicycles and e-scooters on campus grounds?  Have you considered what the difference is between pedal bikes and e-bikes? 

Join Patrick from Bicycle Queensland (BQ) as he takes us through an introduction to micro-mobility and simple bike maintenance to help us become more comfortable and confident moving around campus.

Learn some easy and expert tricks for tuning your machine to ensure it runs smooth, is safe, and you’re ready for anything the journey can throw at it. 

Topics that will be covered:

  • Rideables and bicycles, a simple comparison
  • Planning your ride (weather, road/path surface conditions and essential equipment
  • Micro-mobility & Bike check for safety (safety and maintenance)
  • Improving interactions in urban environments (signaling, braking and being predictable)

About UQ Sustainability Week 2021

Sustainability Week is an opportunity for the UQ community to celebrate and promote sustainability across UQ's campuses and sites. From August 16-20, a range of activities and events are hosted across all areas of the University, including markets, workshops, crafts and DIY, film screenings, specialist presentations, tree plantings, bird watching and garden tours, solar tours, forums and panel discussions, competitions and challenges to inspire sustainable behaviours.
