Switch off the lights for a few hours to start a conversation with your household about energy use and the future of the planet.

Switch off the lights in solidarity with our planet tonight. Earth Hour is the largest grassroots movement for the environment, starting in Sydney in 2007, and brings together people around the world in collective action.

Stroll to a nearby park to stargaze sans light pollution, bring out the board games, burn those candles that have been cluttering up the cupboards and embrace the Danish hygge with a warming meal or drink and getting cosy with loved ones.

Take Earth Hour a step further and make it Earth Evening in the office. Turning off all non-essential lights, computers and appliances when leaving the office on Wednesday afternoon will significantly help reduce energy consumption overnight, and all it takes is the flick of a switch.
