It is estimated that only 20% of this e-waste is recycled each year, which means that 40 million tonnes of e-waste is either placed in landfill, burned or illegally traded and treated in a sub-standard way.
An E-waste skip will be installed in Campbell place during Sustainability Week for staff and students to place their waste electronics. Visit the skip bin to learn about e-waste issues and e-waste collection and recycling.
