Whether you’re interested in greening your work place, looking after the natural environment, being part of a great sustainability community, or introducing better habits at home, we have a range of ideas and initiatives.

Some of our most popular initiatives and events include our annual Sustainability Week, the UQ Repair Café, Warp-it (our online platform for donating office items), our community gardens at St Lucia and Gatton, and the UQ Sustainability Walk.

UQ Sustainability Week

Join the UQ community annually in August for a week of festivities to promote sustainability.

Green Ambassador Program

The Green Ambassador Program (GAP) empowers students to collaborate on sustainability ideas.

A student executive council is elected each year to deliver a program of education and events.

Greening your workplace

We have a range of initiatives and programs to guide staff in greening their office or lab. 

Staff and students can also submit sustainability ideas to the UQ Green Fund.

The UQ Sustainability Award recognises student achievements and efforts in sustainability .

All students are able to participate and may undertake volunteering across a range of activities.
