Come to a weeding working bee on a Sunday morning, help the environment, meet like-minded people, and enjoy morning tea afterwards!
 
When: Sunday 25th October, 7:30-10:30am.
Afterwards, join us to see previous sites worked on by the St Lucia bushcare group, and join us for a morning tea at a nearby venue.
 
Where: Meeting at Handel St Park, Long Pocket - at the end of Jacaranda Place (which goes off Meiers Rd)
 
Who: This is a proud collaboration between UQ's Green Ambassadors Program and the St Lucia Bushcare Group, who have generously organised this event for us
 
Why: Weeding is an integral bushcare practice and helps to maintain the natural ecosystem!
 
What: Remember to bring suitable clothing (trekking or long pants, closed-in shoes, long-sleeved/trekking shirt), hat, water bottle, sunglasses, insect repellent, and gardening gloves (if you have them).
 
Plan for the day:
- Meet at 7:30am at Handel St Park
- Walk 200m to where we will be weeding
- Weed/bushcare until 10:30am
- After weeding, walk to other sites that bushcare has been undertaken
- Walk to morning tea (until 11:30-12pm)
- Walk back to transport/cars at Handel St Park
 
There is a maximum of 18 UQ students allowed in attendance to comply with COVID-19 regulations, so make sure you register via the Eventbrite link to secure your place!
